India's GDP growth forecast raised to 7.1% by World Bank

(06-Oct-26   17:02)

The World Bank revised its India FY27 GDP growth projection upward to 7.1% from 6.6%, underpinned by robust domestic demand and sustained strength in consumption, investment, and exports. Investment and exports expanded approximately 12% in Q1 FY27, with services continuing to be the primary catalyst for domestic expansion. The institution affirmed strong medium-term prospects but also highlighted elevated external vulnerabilities, encompassing potential negative impacts from global oil prices, El Nino, and stock market corrections that could generate volatility in capital flows.
